The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with our Accountant, this role offers exposure to the full accounting cycle in a busy engineering environment. This is not a siloed accounts role. You will gain end-to-end exposure across finance, purchasing, quality assurance and operational support - making it an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to become a well-rounded commercial professional.

 

 

Duties

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial accounts
  • General ledger maintenance and reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable support
  • Payroll monitoring and entry oversight
  • Fixed asset register maintenance
  • BAS and payroll tax preparation support
  • Supporting purchasing processes and supplier coordination
  • Q&A / internal audit support and QA documentation reviews
  • Supporting general administrative and system-based tasks
  • Assist with corporate reporting requirements

 

 

About you

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual who is looking to build a long-term career in accounting within a practical, operational business environment.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance (desirable but not required)
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Interest in understanding the full financial and operational cycle of an engineering business
  • Sound understanding of journal entries
